Eligibility Criteria for Chief Chief Ministers Post:

As per the Constitutions of India , there are certain eligibility criteria,
for a person to become  CM in any Indian State, Those eligibility criteria For the ministers in India are-

• The CM candidate should be a citizen of India.
• He should be a member of state legislative assembly.
• Age criteria-25 years or more.

A person who is not a member of state legislative assembly can also become a CM, but after the appointment , he should become an MLA within months. Or else he would be discharged   from the CM post.


Selection Process of Chief Ministers:

The chief ministers of the state is selected with the state legislative assembly election. In the state assembly election, the state is divided into a number of constituencies. Then political parties will post their candidate in each constituency. Also , The party which gets the majority of assembly seat is fixed as the wining party . Then CM candidate of the wining party will become the chief minister of state. This is the selection procedure of the chief minister in all state of India. The chief mnister is elected for a term of 5 years .

Important Power And Functions Of CM:

The Chef Minister in India have some administrative powers and functios. They are-

• The CM will announce all the policies of the state government.
• The CM acts as the chairman of the planning commission of his state.
• He has the power to recommend governor for the dissolution of the legislative assembly.
• The CM can advice the governor regarding the appointment state public service commission members, attorney general , etc.
• Also the CM can advise the governor regarding the appointmentof state council ministers.
